Not having seafood is a major gripe of mine (with regards to being on campus in Arizona). At least my previous college in Pittsburgh had seafood regularly, albeit maybe somewhat... dubious.

I loved eating crab as a kid!
My grandfather lived in Virginia and would catch crabs and bring them home and cook them and we'd eat them!

When I would come back home to Minnesota, most of the kids my age were scared of crabs. :(

I never liked squishy things like squid or octopus. I don't like muscles or scallops or clams either!

I do miss salmon, though. And tuna sometimes.
It's been a few years since I've had any seafood, and since I live in California now, I bet the seafood here is outstanding.

My parents often get fish and chips or go to these fancy seafood restaurants... and I just either don't go along, or if I do go along, I bring my own food

Why were they scared of crabs?

I mean, I understand being scared of 'crabs' but not... crabs

Cuz they're pinchy maybe? They look like alien creatures.

oh man, i forgot about clams. i liked eating those as a kid ;3;

dude, if i could eat at a chippy i'd be the size of a house. alas there is a decided difference between wanting to eat something and actually putting it in your mouth

Clams and oysters can be good. I've been enjoying smoked mussels from a can lately, but they seem hard to find.

I think because I grew up in small-town, Minnesota..
So crabs were considered "exotic" food.

I grew up in the kind of place where crab was considered super fancy too. XD

I used to own hermit crabs and I loved them, but I couldn't bring myself to own any now. They aren't meant to live alone or in small groups. They're meant to live in massive colonies
