I never got into GoT. It just didn't seem enough within my realm of interest to want to dive into something that sprawling.

See, I like fantasy, but GoT isn't fantasy enough for me. It's more like medieval politics than the high fantasy that I would be more interested in. (If this isn't true, then the Internet has done a terrible job trying to convince me I should care.)

I tried to give GoT a fair chance, but all the parts I liked of it have been better done by other authors an shows without all the non-consensual R rated scenes and murdering of every character anyone halfway likes.
