Yeah, that makes sense. One hobby takes time away from another.
Debating if I want to read after work or do crafts.

I...used to read during breaks at work, but I never think to pack a book anymore. And usually when I get home it's youtube and lounging. But I need to break that bad habit and actually be productive more often.

i make sure any bag i carry can hold a book. lately (since fall of 2018) my main bag has been one of those fjallraven kanken backpacks, so i can carry a book and a crochet project, should the need arise. :)

See....my problem with doing that is that I will inevitably want to read the packed book(s) while at home and will forget to put them back for the next day.
But when I do have a bag with me, it's a messenger bag, so I have room for most small to medium size loom knit projects and several books.

Husband and I ave discussed reading the Witcher series since we're enjoying the Netflix series so we'll.
Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

You'll always feel it, but can never see it. It's strong but shatters easily. You can give it away but never hold it. What is it?

Pm me the answer, no cheating please!

Nice! I'm kind of still bouncing around a bit between 3 of my new books. 1 chapter in on 2 of them and still muddling through the pre-story introductory text stuff in the 3rd. I could probably skip that stuff tbh, but it's kind of interesting to read sometimes.

i've only ever been able to read one novel at a time. sometimes when i have something that's non-fiction i can intersperse it with a novel, but usually i can only read one at a time.

but that's awesome that people can do that!

For me, the stories can't be too similar or I get a bit confused with what happened in which one. Like if LotR hadn't become such a well-known series, I probably couldn't read it and the Wheel of Time series at the same time because, though different, they do kind of share similarities to an extent, but my current books are different enough that I can do it.
Well...most of them are. I should probably hold off on my GoT series book if I'm gonna read The Dinosaur Lords first. They seem different enough atm, but the dino one is described on the cover as being "like a mix between Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones" so we'll see.

I finished Carry On and am now working on Wayward Son even though I've heard it's a horrible emotional train wreck and cliffhanger. Sigh. I like my gay vampire too much I guess. As for being bad about books, rather than go to the library for the copy I know they have, I phone around for the hardcover (because soft cover isn't out yet) exclusive Indigo edition (because it's the same price as the regular hard cover) and then go out in the snow to go get it. (I had to go out anyway because I needed pills but I can't believe I actually took a car downtown, and got street parking, across from the bookstore. That's kind of amazing).

Reading through Abalone Summer as well. It's a bit draggy but is picking up now but I think it's a book I can safely send to the library book sale and not regret it. I've been toting it around for over 20 years now.

I've been on an art kick as well, and actually did some sketching in blue pen. I don't recommend that, but is has got me thinking more about my actual lines so I don't end up with a spaghetti bird's next on the page.
