Default Crafters Anonymous #1

Welcome people. Please sit down and I will explain the rules. I made this thread for people who are crafters to sit and talk about their crafts, no matter what they are. This way we can talk to people who know what we are talking about.

Remember everything said in this meeting is kept secret. Enjoy some coffee and donuts over there on the tables *points to the right of the room*

Those are thanks to *Joy*
Oh and remember please don't use real names. This is a annoymous meeting after all.

Let me start everyone off.

I am a lover of cross stitching, who also draws, reads, writes, sews, make little other crafts. I've even made my own board games and am currently teaching myself how to crochet and knit. Plus I am getting into jewerly making.

I am currently working on a humming bird biscornu and the following kits.
A old time santa claus christmas tree skirt:

A woodland enchantress:

And a polar bear kit:

I am more obsessed with the biscornus since when I try to work on a kit, I get overwhelmed for some reason and it seems like too much work for me. I suffer from OCD and 3 anxiety disorders and I'm thinking my anxiety disorders are getting a tad worse because of my reactions to kits.

I have tried working on kits but I take way too long to work on a very small part and I am not happy while stitching. But when I stitch a biscornu, I am very happy and content with what I am doing. Plus I can't wait to finish it.

Here are pictures of the things I finished just this year. The tiny pink biscornu is one. I took pictures of both sides because they are different.

I love seeing other people's works. So please feel free to share.

XD I always enjoy seeing your biscornus. I think the patterns on them are really lovely. I especially enjoy the black cats.

How has life been treating you?
Also out of random curiosity do you make decorations for thanksgiving?

I don't celebrate thanksgiving. The closest thing I made was my maple leaf biscornu.

Lifes been great for me. I'm almost done with the first part to my humming bird biscornu.

How's life been treating you?

Fair, I've been sleeping off not sleeping, and attempting to write a script ( Which I should be doing now but I am not XD ) . I also am recovering from Alphabetizing paper slips for 3 hours today. xD <--- works in a library.

Any particular reason not to celebrate thanks giving or just never in the mood for it?

Sorry for the delay in response.

Sounds like a fun job. hehe

I just never really like the holiday. Never really believed the reason for it.

Just finished the first part of my biscornu.

Giving some love to the hangout.

XD I liked it, a lot of free food, but Christmas is better because you get gifts too.
I am not sure how much I like it this year though. I've only seen one tv station that actually knows it exist and that is Food Network.
Is cross stitching hard?

That's sad that it seems like no one knows of thanksgiving.

To me it isn't. It does take awhile to get used to because of all the counting needed and concentration too. And depending on what size aida cloth you use, it depends on how blind you are. I can't use anything smaller than 18. I tried 28 count and my god it's impossible to see the holes and stitch on it.

But starting out with cross stitching, a small kit or tiny pattern would be good. Get used to stitching. The person I inspired to start it up on Roliana said it was really fun and easy to do. Her small kit wasn't enough for her. So she went out and got a bigger one, said it was too quick to stitch the whole thing up.

I am half done with my humming bird biscornu part 2. Realized one of the corner colors is wrong so I'm going to fix it this time round. I guess paying attention to tv while Night Court is on is a bad idea. Hehe you make mistakes. Oppsie doopsie.
