I think as long as you're not on the war page, you shouldn't be attacked, but I can't say for sure.

If you don't have anyone at home who could do it, I don't think it changes the opportunity to hack someone. Eventually, they don't show you online anymore anyways, like, when you stop being active, but when you become again, you're logged in again.
Besides, I think it's harder to hack in when you're still using the account. o:
