I am currently using Windows 7 operating system, even though I don't like most of microsoft's software. But at least it runs what I prefer. xP

Fortunately Mac *SOFTWARE* tends to be cheaper. I mean, getting Snow Leopard with all features costs $39 compared to Windows 7 Ultimate's $198. Also, Mac hardware is of better quality and you're guaranteed it's going to work, unlike on Windows where you've got such a variety of different hardware that you can never be sure what's going to work well with your computer. I'd say total cost of ownership of a PC compared to a Mac is probably about the same, after taking maintenance costs and upgrades into account.

I just recently bought a laptop which had windows 7 installed and operating.
It took a bit of getting used to, considering before then I had been running XP for quite some years, but it's not terrible I guess, the transparent window feature is kind of cool though it doesn't exactly seem necessary. x:

I have WinXP. It would be easy to upgrade to Windows 7, save that my computer is over 5 years old and needs upgrading, and that's not going to happen any time soon. For now, an outdated system fulfills my needs, so it's all good.

I'm using Win 7 x64 and I have to say the experience is like using a stable Win XP build with the latest features and an Aero coat on it. :B
Default #134
I find it funny you put "stable" and "Aero" in the same sentence. I always turn Aero off. It slows the system down for nothing but a little eye candy.
Default #135
Lol I mentioned the Aero "eyes candy" coat there but I'm not fond of it either. I use Classic theme most of the time because the desktop composition feature keeps interfering with most applications. xD

Exactly my point. :P

I use Mac OS X (: I changed from Windows to Mac last year and I'm so glad! I just love eeeeeverything about Mac! haha
But I still have Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed in virtual machines so I can use any program in the world in my Macbook! ^^

I just installed WINE and X11, so I can run most Windows programs and most Linux programs right there in OSX. :P

I'm currently running Mac OSX, Leopard, I believe. My other (school-issued rental) laptop is running on Snow Leopard. Both are pretty snazzy.

o .o interesting! what's that? programs or what?

X11 is bundled with Leopard and Snow Leopard, so you can build most Linux programs for OSX. There are a couple of projects that automate the dirty work for you -- Fink and MacPorts. (Don't use both at the same time.) They're just normal package managers except they compile the stuff you select for your computer's configuration.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of WINE if you're a comfortable Linux user. It's a compatibility layer that provides equivalents of a lot of the Windows operating system so you can run many Windows .exe files under X11. Compatibility isn't perfect (it's pretty hit-and-miss) but it works pretty well.

ohh.. sounds good! and no.. haven't heard about it because i've always had partitions.. so for .exe i used Windows and for programming and stuff i used Linux LOL but now I barely use linux.. just MacOS

I use a Mac OS X.
The colors are so vibrant and it's ideal for school work.

Mac OS X (macbook pro) and Windows XP (desktop).

I use my desktop to draw nowadays.
