The only mochi shop in my city is like, miiiiles away. DDDD:

It's a mochi/yogurt place. And it is the greatest. thing. ever. EVERRR.

I haven't made mochi in a while, but I sometimes make it. That and sushi.

I wouldn't even know where to start in making mochi.

wasn't Mochi the name of that pink dog thing from that one anime.. there was a killer on roller skates using a baseball bat.. grr I can't remember the name of the anime D= I only liked the one episode with the 3 ghosts trying to commit suicide xD

It's not hard, just a long process. You have to soak the glutenous rice over night then pound it with a Kine [wooden mallet] and a traditional mortar.

Typically two people do the work, but since i only make a little, I used one hand to mash, and the other to wet the rice. You've got to keep a good rhythm. Once you've got your sticky mass, you then make your desired shape. The sooner you shape it, the better the texture. It also dries out quickly.

That's the traditional way to make it.. but there are online recipes that call for other stuff.

I'm not wrong either, however. There is an anime called Monster Ranchers, and there was a pink 'monster' named mochi.

Hmm, sounds like it'd just be easier for me to go to the Mochi restaurant.

As for Monster Ranchers, that was on tv a few years back. It was playing around the same time as Digimon.

Monster Ranchers was on both early morning and around 4-5ish in the afternoon after school. As was digimon. at least here anyway.
