Ah, That explains things. ^^ I'd saved up my birthday and x-mas money for a year plus set money aside from my job to buy a new one. My ex had told me not to buy used or refurbished one. >.< He bout two refurbished and one used and they all stopped working.

Of course come to find out he usually didn't know what he was talking about but still. XD

the thing is I know my brothers should work fine he spent like 500$ on the model that didn't crap out as easily

Yeah but you weren't related to them and didn't personally know the person did you? It's different when you know the person who's had the console and you know where the console's been and how it's been treated.
