There wasn't really any colored items then... xD; Most of the items were grey scale.

Everything from beta (except a few items...) were all grey. So getting green items was.... Yeah. XD

no, the grey items were the luxuries. the barbaric part was where the betas were sacrificed and eaten EVERY SINGLE DAY!
