Actually I concluded that it was the story of a boy who goes through a state of depression caused by his corrupt disposition in correlation with his state of mind. I also concluded that it ends anti-climatically because Phoebe cures that depression, showing the world that people who can't cope with their problems ought to turn a blind eye towards them in favor of the small, enjoyable quirks of life. XD

I dont think i got that far. That summer we had to read it, we also had to read the Great Gatsby. The way you make it sound funk it actually sounds worth reading. I've heard so much about the novel, and just chalked it up to being a 'guy' book. But I might give it another chance now that I am older and its not being forced in my face.
