Every artist does that. If you don't know how to draw a chair, don't you just look at a chair and draw it?? =]

The difference is you don't copy it stroke for stroke.. you just use it as a gauge to see how best it can fit into your scene. And if you do it enough, soon you wouldn't -need- to reference.

Wow sorry to hear that Duchess, but yeah many people do that it is hard and Quiet annoying when you see it happen. Some time it bothersome when people do that.

Man theres alot of Art thieves on dA Recently. Airu and I found a few trolls doing it to get people riled up. It was interesting to read through the pages of comments.

I haven't had my art taken but I had people doing fanarts based on this specific art (I gave them permission, and they credited my art work), I think it's because it's not well known and well done enough for it to be popular

Not only do I hate art thieves, I also hate people who take your work and render it, calling it their own. Don't even ask for permission, they! So fucking annoying, and it's sad when people believe it's theirs. If I ever got my hands on somebody that stole anything of mine, they'd be sorry. D;

But yeah it pisses me off too. My art got stolen or traced several times, and who knows how much more times without my knowing it? :/
Some Italian person even took my whole identity on the internet. I saw an on Italian forum a person with posts with my name and my signature art. That definitely wasn't me, I don't even speak a word Italian! I wanted to stab him D< It's RUDE.
I know those people only want to hear positive things and compliments, but over someone elses back is not good D<
