I bought Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light for DS today cuz it was on clearance for $6. xD Looks interesting.

I love Final Fantasy games but I haven't really looked into that one yet. Wonder if it's any good. I tried to play FFCC Rings of Fate on DS but couldn't get fully into it, much like the other Crystal series games.

I've never played a FF game outside of the main numbered series (I played Tactics once but I didn't like it) so I'll see what happens. xD

I don't like Tactics either, not my type of game. I'm not really into any tactic/strategy games though. I do find that I like the main FF series the best, the other branches (cc and tactics and side stories) have the tendency to disappoint.

Yeah, I heard that the FF7 side story games (like Dirge of Cerberus) weren't very good. xD

Its not very good at all. Which is a shame because 7 is one of my faves. My nephew has Dirge of Cerberus and I LOVE Vincent so I was excited for him to play it so I could see what it was like back when he got it... turned out to be a huge waste of money. The gameplay wasn't that great, not like FF7 in any way, and the story was flawed and lacking. Vincent is such a great character in 7 too, I wish they would have done something better with him.

Yeah that's what I heard. D: My little brother loves Vincent too so I was going to get it for him but I looked up reviews and videos of it and decided not to. xD; I don't want a crappy game to ruin his impression of his favorite character.

Good call, I wouldn't bother with it. I mean some people might like it, but I personally didn't, and neither did my nephew.. or anyone else I personally know that did play it. I still like Vincent but it was disappointing to see that they didn't do his character justice. That reminds me that FF7 is one of the games that I was playing again not too long ago and I never got around to finishing that play-through... I'll have to do that at some point when I get a little more time.

I haven't played FF7 in sooooo long. D; I really don't remember much about it which is sad.

Dirge isn't really a side story game. It's set two years after the Advent Children movie.

I do agree that it was quite lacking in terms of content, though. It was way too linear, too. I like open-world adventures, not "go here. Go here. No, you can't go back" type of games. The plot seemed rather bland, too.

Tactics, I own, but I haven't completed it yet. It's really hard!!! Just getting through the flashback times is hard enough, but then the storyline moves FORWARD!

I guess "side story" wasn't the right phrase. xD I meant "Spin-off" but I couldn't think of it at the time. |D

Meh, it's fine. I guess all that matters is that it's not worth the twelve bucks... unless you're as obsessed with Vincent Valentine as I am XD

I do like Vincent but my favourite characters from 7 are Tifa and Red XIII.

Tiffa is pretty cool too. I like her Advent Children outfit better than her original FF7 outfit though. xD

Nanaki is awesome. I'd love to have a wolf-lion as a companion. Finally a fuzzy companion that won't die before me!!!
