I don't know those but I know the style. I only have one sidescrolling game now and that's the new Castlevania for DS. I can't get past the first boss. :(. Neither could my friend and he's an ubergamer.

That would be the one. I saw a new Castlevania at the store today but it was X-box I think. I don't know if there are any newer ones for DS but I'm not the type to keep up on those things. I only know about Skyrim because I saw a pamphlet or poster somewhere and from the lengthy thread in the games forum. ;).

It's the crab boss. I get in a corner and his bubbles kill me. Can't figure out how to avoid those.

I just put Castlevania 1 through 4 in my pile of games to sell on eBay. Those are the only ones I ever played, and long ago, at that.

I have Order of Ecclesia for DS and Lament of Innocence for PS2, which I quite like.

I have liked all the CastleVania games, even that poorly made one for the N64. I don't have all the ones released but I have plaed them all except the newest one on the PS3/Xbox 360.

Bleh, I'm horrible at sidescrollers. I love the story for Castlevania, but I get stuck and frustrated too often to play it through. I played the demo for the new one though, and it seemed alright.

And I'd have to keep to the sidelines for an RP involving stats and the like. I tried doing DnD in a forum and had to step out pretty quickly. I'm bad at most everything math-related, and even worse at keeping track of everything that's going on, plus it goes way too slowly for my tastes. ;;

I like RPGs, It was tough because of the two elements actually. I am bad at shooters and just couldn't win a fight...easily without basically grinding but I didn't like combat to begin with so bleh. The only time I got anywhere was playing with someone but I always felt...useless so didn't bother with Borderlands any further. Just wasn't fun if my ass was handed to me on a plate xD (Same goes for Final Fantasy Dissidia ;-; )

haha Yeah I played 1 and 2 to death. I was a big fan. Part of two sites, and knew just about EVERYTHING in the halo-verse. Read all of the 4 books availible at the time too. The only place I faltered was the weapons and exact year of events. I could land in the decade or half century (if tracing that far back). xD Now I barely remember anything at all =\

@Dolly, I'm kind of steering away from the DnD idea anyway, mostly the issues you mentioned. Plus, it would be a lot of work to make it fit the idea I have in mind.

Oh, well, I mean that it would be a lot of work to develop the setting since I wouldn't be able to use any of the standard DnD stuff (well, little of it, anyway).

But my basic idea at the moment is a post-apocalyptic setting based on the Book of Revelation where humanity is struggling to survive the apocalypse while the dead walk, false prophets take over nations, angels rain ruin on the earth, sorcery springs up among humanity, demons crawl forth from the abyss, the Four Horsemen ride the world sowing chaos in their wake, you get the idea.

That... sounds... so... cool. o_o

xD Well, post-apoc is always good, and you've managed to get all of the good elements - zombies, angels, and demons - into one story. If you do get that going, I know a couple of people who I might be able to bribe convince to join.

I'm actually reading through the Book of Revelation with a highlighter at the moment, and I keep getting more ideas, so it's looking like I might actually be able to do it. It's just a matter of figuring it all out.

I will keep you updated.

I think I'll go see if there's a CliffsNotes version of it somewhere, just so I have more than a vague idea of what it's all about. =P And yes, please do!
