Sigh. Download attempt 3 locked up at 60%, download attempt 4 worked but wont extrace because both the files are corrupt, or so it says. Might give the old version another try. Later. :p
If Quiet's internet is really acting up it could have corrupted the download. Unless you've changed it again, the one I downloaded from Megaupload was just fine.
Oh, I put up a new file with both files compressed into one, after Dolly suggested that idea. I'm going to download it now and see if there's a problem.

Ohh right, bad me, I wasn't thinking flail because that makes me think of whips, and those are certainly NOT whips. I can imagine those would take a lot of practice to use without actually hurting oneself :p
Now then, I have some practice with submission, where ARE those whips...
I don't know if I've ever actually seen a flail depicted accurately in any form of media. The heads were usually like half the size of an apple; you didn't need that much weight to cause a lot of damage and making the heads oversized like that would make the weapon unwieldable. The whole idea was to keep it constantly spinning in order to distract the enemy. They were usually one-handed (and hence, even lighter) so you could use a shield with them, as the weapon's pretty purely offensive besides trying to disarm with it.

I watched a series on Medieval weaponry that had put together re-enactments and such. Interesting show. Yeah, flail balls were tiny, somewith very long chains infact, but unfortunately were only good for one swing because the idea was to keep them moving and starting back up again would take too much time and effort. Hence knights carried a pile of weapons.
What I found fascinating was that the flail was later in coming than other stuff. It seems almost primative but it was a reaction to plate armour, along with the effectivenes of frightened peasants with wheat flails against mounted knights.
The internet did behave throughout the forth download but it may have clicked off an on too fast for the little globe icon to register. S*it happens.
Nah, it works well about, just not in my preferred spots. Though my brother does get inclined ot strangle it once and a while. The upstairs here is a wireless forest and managing everything can get tricky. It seems to be behaving tonight so far. I thin having MSN open tends to bother it. 'Tis sensetive apparently.
Haven't tried since the corrupted issue (and I cringe to look at the errors in my last post. My defence is that I cut my nails partially and it's really odd to go from long nails to not so long. Much easier to go from long to short.).
