Yeah, boring day today. Worked on stuff for the RP a bit, have some preliminary stuff typed up.

I don't need art, do I? I really hope not.

Also, would I basically alternate between GM posts and in-character posts? I mean, even with free rein, there has to be some description or action from NPCs, right?

Nah, you don't need it. Descriptions are good enough. I just like to make mine look pretty. =3

And yeah, generally you'd make separate posts for each character. NPC's you can do however you want - usually I would just have their text in a different color in the same post as my character's, or you can have them in a separate post altogether. If you wanted to post OOC and be all moddy you could just do it in parenthesis in any of your posts.

You get to make up the rules, so whatever works for you. =P

Ah, okay. I'm just trying to get a feel for things generally work, since I've never done one of these before.

One thing I'm having a bit of a hard time with is deciding where to actually start the story, since I just have so many ideas all over the place at the moment.

Well, you could just have your general setting and then let the characters make their entrances, then decide on something based on who they are and what they do.

By the way, I have a friend who's excited to join in, so you'll definitely have at least three people right off the bat. =3

Well, I imagine it'll take place somewhere in southern Europe or the the Middle-East, since that's where most of the events of Revelations directly take place, but this isn't going to be a technology-dead world at all, and there'll still be air travel, so it's not actually that big of a deal where we start.

I'm putting together a character right now, and she'll do well in either place. How far along are you?

Um... I could probably have most of the groundwork done by tomorrow if I put my mind to it. (Could have had it done today, but was feeling pretty lethargic).

xD Well, you're putting a lot more thought into it than I would, so I'm sure it's gonna be good.

Oh, one other thing. I don't really have an idea for an "event" that would get the game going. Is something like that necessary or should we just let it evolve on its own?

Umm... I usually just think up a background story, then let things evolve according to what the players do. If you want something specific to happen that might start them off on their "quest" or whatever, you could do that too. You can also put up an OOC thread where players can discuss what they'd like to have happen in the story.
