I really do not worry about popularity.
I cosplay characters I like, regardless of whether they are well known or not.
I've done things from Sailor Moon to Nanami Takahashi from Bokugra ga Ita.

I wanna cosplay from bassura.

Wednesday was sooooooooooo fun! I shall have to prod the photographer for photos :) And I didn't get burned AT ALL(Katchan you were right, I was wrong, there I said it)!
Er, I cosplay from whatever I enjoy, from obscure to super-overdone. I figure if I like it who cares if everyone else agrees/disagrees with me.

physically I've been here, X , the whole time. Though no internets, so really not helpful in the whole going on-line bit. Esoterically, I've been to Olympus, California, London and a slew of other places thanks to a voracious reading habit.....

I haven't been out of state for at least two years

I do my darndest to get out of state for at least one con a year...next year I'm thinking Atlanta....

I haven't gone on an actual trip anywhere for quite a while.

This year I am headed out to AZ, Cail maybe Newmexico for all the cons I run for anime land and cail is yaoi con.

I wish I could go and do a few more outta staters...but work isn't going to be cooperative. If they'd just do what they SAID and give me my blasted RAISE it could happen ::grumbles in corner::
