From what I read he tweeted a picture of himself and a few friends drinking alcohol a few hours before the crash. The passenger was probably drunk as well. But you are right there is no proof he was legally drunk while behind the wheel, however damages like the ones his car obtained only happen at high speeds. Speeding is completely preventable.

Edit: I just realized that how I wrote my statements it can be taken that I'm trying to convince you out of feeling bad for his death. This is not my intention, I'm just trying to back up my not feeling bad for him.

Nah, I understand :P I know he was most likely drunk, but with how he and his friends are there is some off chance it was another brand of "Look what I can do" stupid. Or the fact that at 3 AM the roads are empty, they were just being a speed demon and rushed too fast.
Alcohol was most likely involved in any of the decisions, but I still feel horrible, for him, his friends, and family, that he died.
