tch, my base are made with a mouse just like all of the old artists, tablet pixels tend to look stupid or at least not like the old art, the pretty stuff that drew me into the field and made me a pixelist too

if the lines are done well then shadowing can be hidden with patterns and other diversions^^

if you can cut a corner anywhere is is the inconsistancies, when you have to instances of something take the eiser route for both, makes it look more cohereant and is easier to do

if you have an avi with three really simmiler colors of blue on it you can pick /one/ color for all three or if you have lots of complicated jewelry you can take the most important part simplify it and unify it through the whole thing, or even with hair, you can take the complicated tail hair and match it with simple head hair, like making caractures^^
