I may make my first character a paladin-type just for that specific reason. :p

Of course, this game has no classes per se, so that requires a bit more dedication and focus than it would in other games. Which is kind of cool, I think.

That's three games so far where prison comes into play in some way at the beginning. Anyone recall how Battlespire or Redgard started?

No clue what I would be. I'll need to thouroughly explore the character creation details first. The Elder Scrolls games are one of the few with instruction books that I actually bother to read.

I don't think you actually get to create your character in this one. It's all reflective of how you play the game. Apparently, leveling will be a bit faster, because of this.

Sort of like Fable then? Become what you do, in a way? Or do your skills just get better as you use them and yoru character sort of grows according to what you do with it?

Well, it'll basically be like Morrowind/Oblivion except without any primary skills, and the current rank of skill that gets increased will determine how much experience towards leveling up it's worth. I think there'll still be archetypes, but I'm not positive.

Ah. That's neat, and pretty much what I used to do with theh game anyway. I used to always start Daggerfall with a short blade (ebony dagger) that was an item one could get by filling in the special background options. My short blade was always 2% or so. Couldn't hit the broad side of a bard for several hours but did eventually get lethal with it. Call me persistant ;).

Meh. that works. Enjoy! :D

That made me giggle a lot Quiet XD

Though "bard" is what I gravitate to in video games that have that choice because musical abilities enthrall me o.o

Instruments would be a curious edition to the elder scrolls games. We already have random glass cups and silverware that don't really get used, and candles and spoons and such.

I've never tried holding a spoon actually. I wonder if that would work. I've accidentally attacked bad guys with my lockpick on occasion.

In a general note, anyone ever tried to use torches or lanters in the games? I don't think I've ever used anything mundane beyond stuff to wear.

Omg, I am so excited for Skyrim! You have. No. Idea. And I do the exact same thing. I always ignore the main storyline and go off and do whatever. But lately I restarted Oblivion to actually do the main story. It's boring. xD So I'm doing all of the faction storylines too. Much better! And I don't know if you've seen this video yet, but it will answer all of your Skyrim questions! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic6dKnv3WdU

Oh, yes, that demo was delicious looking.

I do hope they make the main quest more rewarding in this one. That dragon armor in Oblivion was pathetic past level 10 or so.

I know! It looks absolutely gorgeous. I hope we get to be more than Nords though. Although I love Nords, I still wish to be Argonian sometimes.

I hope so too! I got more loot from oblivion gates and Fighter's guild quests. :/

I'm 99% positive that most, if not all of the old races will be back. That would be incredibly stupid, from a marketing perspective, of Bethesda to do, unless they introduced different races to replace them.

I agree! My brother told me that he was sure that the original races would all be there because they were in Morrowind, despite being the reincarnation of that Dark Elf dude. (My dad and I have tried playing Morrowind, but we can't stand the graphics. xD)
I would be very disappointed if I couldn't be an Argonian. For some reason I find them utterly adorable. o u o
I'm very excited for the dragons and whatnot though.

I had a really hard time adjusting to Morrowind, coming to it from playing Oblivion, but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. There were definitely some aspects of it that I thought were done better than in Oblivion, namely level scaling.
