Because mortals are materialistic, myself I think of art as memories.

Of course we're materialistic like that. It's because we're aware of how limited our time is.

Limited time... How I envy that.

Some do. Not all do though. If you were a studious person, wouldn't you like to continue learning for as long as you could?

An eternity of studying, perfecting your skills... That sounds good... b-but what if you forget everything once you change?

Why would I forget everything?

Not you, my own kind... we all eventually lose our memories

The concept of immortality seems rather sad and lonely to me.

Lonely? hmph... *turns away*

You see everything and everyone you love die and are useless to prevent it... I guess my kind are blessed in that way... but the exchange isn't worth it

I have... seen many die. However, I try not to... get too close.

I can hardly imagine being so alone. Even when another's presence is bothersome, it's still a comfort to know that you're not completely alone.
