I guess they don't import as much Asian products there? At least not outside the biggest towns? We got lots here and it's all fairy cheap. Spices and such.

I have drawer full of free soy sauce and duck sauce packets from Chinese restaurants.

I supposed the US has something going for it... The idea that butter is expensive or soy sauce is expensive is just baffling. o_o
