Lord Maikan, my fiancé was nowhere near the palace as he sent me to the Ball alone...to look for an Athlyk girl that I met six months ago. -afraid to mention that I'm in love with that girl-

Sir Azeil, welcome to my tent again.

Some visitors here have left refreshments, do either of you wish for anything?

Azeil looked over to the feline woman, and couldn't help but think that there truly were many strange creatures around here. Still, he merely shook his head. "No thank you," he said, his attention moving over to Maikan for a moment. He looked... familiar.

An Athlyk girl? ... *ponders this* Well I can certainly--

*turns as they are interrupted and gasps at the winged...creature that arrived; eyes narrows as he stands in front of Serra, not hearing her address the stranger or ask if he'd like a refreshment. Under his cloak, he suddenly draws a hand with four sharp daggers held between fingers and speaks demandingly*

Who are you?? State your name and your business here, immediately!!

Azeil's eyes turned towards the fox, and his eyes about lit up, the male reminding him of the female he was so fond of. "Azeil, did you not hear the woman?" he asked though, nose wrinkling, "I am not allowed to wander the encampment here?" He raised an eyebrow curiously at this man. The initial excitement he'd had gone.

Lord Maikan! -looks with alarm at the sudden display of hostility-

This is Sir Azeil, one of the Queen's bodyguards! Please, put aside your weapons while we are here, this is a place of rest...

*Maikan straightens from his slight crouch with a confused expression, his brow furrowed* Azeil... I have not heard of you. Where do you come from...? *His gaze takes in the male's form, raising an eyebrow, lip curling in slight distaste* What manner of abomi---ah, being are you? Are you Alti'ui? You do not look like the ones I have seen on the field. *His lip set in a thin line* I do not like strangers wandering where ever they please, if you are fighting you should be with your u--

*Suddenly hears Serra and whirls around, shock on his face* Bodyguard?!? What??

*He struggles to gain control of himself* I...I apologize for my outburst, madam. *Puts his weapons away, looking rather upset*

"I was sent by Braen," he said with a small shrug, "Unfortunately to guard the queen. Although I do not quite understand why, as she seems to have plenty of guards." He snorted a bit, although he remembered the other had asked him what he was, and Azeil merely shrugged.

"As for what I am... merely a creature born from the shadows. I suppose someone had to will it, as the shadows don't quite have their own will... however I would not know whom or what that would be."

Lord Maikan, I apologize for raising my voice to you, but I must treat everyone here as allies and in-fighting while we are in the mist of this fighting must not be tolerated.

Sir Azeil, I also apologize for the welcome Lord Maikan gave you. Even if you do not want any refreshments, please allow me to give you anything else you may need as a formal apology.

Azeil waved his hand a bit and smiled. "Ah, do not worry, miss... I am quite used to Asura's outbursts... this isn't a problem," he assured, and smiled at her assuringly. He wasn't insulted or anything at all, it didn't bother him. After all, he didn't even really want to be there in the first place.

*Maikan flushed a little under Serra's scolding, but only nodded, turning from her to glare at Azeil suspiciously.* I myself serve under the Queen sir...directly under her. Why was I not told about your presence or duties? *Sniffs a little, adjusting his gloves, regaining his haughty manner, his shock and upset now hidden behind it* I do not see why the Queen needs a guard from outside her trusted court.

*Chooses not to comment on his explanation, thinking it ridiculous to claim to come from shadows of all things, but he understands there is much in the universe he does not know*

*Turns apologetically to Serra and bows slightly* I do apologize again milady. I would greatly appreciate some refreshment myself.

I understand, Sir Azeil. -goes to the back and gets some food and drink, then returns-

Lord Maikan, please rest and eat a little, before you head out to fight more.

The tattoos on his body shifted some in Azeil's uncomfortableness, and he frowned some. "Ah... that's why you looked familiar..." he said, and shrugged. "I prefer not to be seen, as you should know the woman has a temper. I'd rather not be on the other end of it as I fear I would disobey my orders from Braen. As for why you have not heard, I don't know. I came with Chamaros."

*Accepts the food and drink from Serra graciously, wrapping it in a leather cloth and sliding it into a pouch on his belt, with a slight frown on his brow at hearing 'Chamaros'* Thank you milady, but I have no time to stay, although I would be honored to remain in your gracious company if I could.

*Bows to her and walks by Azeil, looking straight ahead, then stops suddenly and turns his head to him* I will be watching you.

I do not like the newcomers the Queen has chosen to align herself with, but...I do not question her judgement nor decisions. However... *Lowers his voice to a hiss* I do not trust you. I do not like you. Make no mistake, I will be watching you very carefully, Sir Azeil. *Bumps his shoulder as he walks away with purposeful strides, leaving the tent*

Azeil watched as the other left, and he just rolled his eyes, sighing softly. "Ah, quite a grump..." he said, then just nodded a bit. "I suppose I should get going myself... farewell." He waved a clawed hand before he left the tent. Although he simply slipped into the shadows outside, reluctantly returning to the Queen's side.

-fidgets uncomfortably at the exchange between Maikan and Azeil-

Sir Azeil...even if it doesn't bother you, I still must apologize for my Lord Maikan's actions. Despite it all we Feryxonis have not always been treated well, and we value the Queen very highly. She has done so much for us. (or what I WOULD have said before he left XD)

As she saw the two newcomers leave the tent, Nefer discretly made her way inside, narrowing her eyes at what just happened.

"Well, it appears you had some...interesting company tonight, lady Asione."

With that she walked to the nearby wall, laying her sword at her side and relaxing her shoulder muscles to get rid of the tension caused by all the fighting she had just taken part in.
