we had class t-shirts that were $35, it was a rip-off. But none considered uniforms.

For me I'd rather wear the uniforms and gives out the few dress code than wear whatever you want and deal with the double standard 5 page dress code rules (that seems like that they were talking about the same basis)

In America we rarely have school with uniforms, the only schools in America that require uniforms are either Religious schools or private schools (but those are rare to find) 90%-95% of American schools are public (in which we can wear whatever clothes that are public appropriate).

I remember in one of my schools they banned anything Insane Clown Posse clothing or anything related to it

I am in America and my old school tried to go uniform.

Certain blue jeans you could wear (the second year they had it) and khakis and polos.

I would've been fucked. I have never seen khakis in my size. I wouldn't be able to follow that dress code which they called a uniform, but is only an extremely strict dress code.
