I've battled on 3 accounts. Add Shadow Mask's and Dream of Dusk's battles, too.
And let's just count 240 + 240 is 440. And you don't get jewel every other battle. Okay, you get one every 3 battles, let's assume, and earn 140 crystals from posting per set. Or even all. But even then, it will take at least 400 battles to get full set, including jewel.

400 battles can be achieved with one hour of play per day over three weeks. (We had actually balanced it towards two weeks based on an estimate of a 50% win ratio for the average player, but we also knew the event would be longer than two weeks.)

So it's only the jewels we have to worry about keeping some of, right Coda?

I am wondering if jewels are going to get a tiny bit easier to get in posts? I have been noticing them a little more often in posts, but if they don't show up a little more often I'm not going to be too worried over it. I'm just gonna save whatever jewels I get within the next couple of days.

If so, I give...because I have a full jewel set...and I only have 10 jewels. I'm only doing posting now...due to that fact I lose every battle...some due to inactivity (due to it taking 4 mins to find a battle) or just luck.

So if there really are going to be more jewel items...I won't be getting them then >_<

Actually, I get a book to read during the event because battling is so dull and long.

It does not pay to post here since you almost never get jewels.

It only doesn't pay if jewels are the only thing you care about. Remember that you're still earning aurum for posting, and of course there's value in just having a good time and talking to people.

The main reason we didn't make it easier to earn jewels by posting is because we wanted people to use the battle system -- the battle system is more interesting and more playable when there are more people participating. If people feel that battling isn't a good use of time because there are better ways of getting what they want, that makes battling less fun for others, which causes them to have less interest in battling. It's a spiral.

It just feels more interactive to chat.

And you're not wrong to feel that way. That's one reason we offer contests that reward jewels. We try to offer multiple different ways to get what you want in order to appeal to different kinds of people. Some people prefer to battle because they don't like posting a lot.

Yeah, but what if continuously...you don't get battle for 4+ minutes no matter what you do....so when you do finally get one, you lose due to picking nothing?

The battle system is useless to me for getting jewels. So....since they're rare in posting I won't get these new items and I will not buy them either. I hope they're nothing I like.

If you're not getting into battles until you encounter an NPC, try playing at a different time of day if possible. You might also try using a mule in the other faction to see if there are people to fight that would otherwise be on your side.

Many people have pointed out that the best way to not miss battles is to have it open in another window, resized down so you can watch it while you do other things.

If you have windows 7, the snap feature is useful for it, as well.
