okay, every other monday we have inventory. me and whomever else gets scheduled. So, I get there, before everyone else(as normal) get in and wait for the manager to get the hand scanners up. as he finished that he tells me oh, by the way [your helper] called out last night, so she's not coming. Which, okay, no biggie? Except the girl's got ALL my contact info, and she chose to not tell me herself she was callin in. Also, at no point did my manager call someone ELSE to come in and help. Mind you this is a two person job. It takes two of us from 6am-10am to get the FIRST of THREE counts done.

So, I go up to the circle, after all, not much I can do. and hell, it should be 'easy' I spent three hours yesterday pre-counting everything so it should not take...oh HAI WINNERS CIRCLE IS A DISASTER!!! ::breaths fire::

The ONLY thing I tell them the closers have to do at night before inventory is do recovery(get it all back in place) and get their trash out. What do I find but things all OVER and trash in both the storerooms and behind the counters. By now I'm so mad I'm nearly in tears of rage and drag the manager up to see it. He pretty much just lets me breath fire all over it and I get back to work.

Lo and behold, people have taken stuff out of my precounts but not recorded it...nor did they leave my counts up on the THREE boxes of balls that have in excess of 80 balls...so I get to manually count htem all again.

Because I'm awesome I get the first count done by 8:45, and then onto second counts...only to find that I've mistyped a SHIT TON of stuff...so I've now got 16 pages of recounts(our recounts are normally 5). I bust hump through it and start restocking hte circle(the opener is USELSES)

So, I get the circle restocked except for two baskets of balls and the candy table. by now I've straightened up the store room right off our area and generated a metric ton of trash...so I have all this to pick up. I get that done, inform my manager he's feeding me ALL the food EVER and go eat lunch. I get back to find that we've had a shippment arrive and they expect me to get it hauled up and tagged and put out. Oh HELL no. I inform the manger on duty that the midshifter can do it and I jet home.

Fuck this day. sideways.
