They could make little people, or beverage coasters.
It's a bit soon but they could make snowflakes for holiday ornaments.

Weaving, or a decoration called a God's eye that I think is popular in Mexico.

Hmmm, you should make a castle, or a log cabin out of the sticks. You can also use them as a base when you put together a gingerbread house.
