I mean, I don't do Trisphee for a living. I never did. It's just something that occasionally brings in a few bucks on the side. I mostly work for free, since I'm one of the founding staff (I think I'm the only one from the staff roster when the site launched that's still around) and I do the work because I enjoy it and I care about the site and the community.
My official title, in a professional capacity, is "senior software engineer." Used to be called "computer programmer" but calling it an engineering role is a lot more descriptive of the kind of work we do. You'll also hear us called "developers".
I have a degree in computer science, yes, but honestly I can't exactly recommend it. A degree is one way to get your foot in the door because the job market is super competitive (there are a zillion developers out there but not an infinite number of jobs) but experience matters more than college. I got where I am because of the projects I worked on for myself.
